On Wednesday 14th, the mayor Jordi Hereu has signed the accession of the city to the international bill of walking, a statement that now was born four years ago with the aim of defending the rights of pedestrians in the city. That is in addition to the initiatives that the municipality has been driven forward in mobility, such as areas 30 or the fencing along the walkways.

Barcelona is committed to defending the rights of pedestrians with its accession to the international bill of walking, a statement of intent that calls the right of pedestrians to walk | walking safe and sustainable cities.

The mayor, Jordi Hereu, stressed during the signing of the accession to this commitment, "reinforces the way that makes the city on mobility and motivates us to continue setting new goals to improve the quality and safety of pedestrian mobility".

Barna Centre, Barri Gotic, was one of the pioneers in declaring pedestrian their streets, which receive the most visitors each year from the city of Barcelona
