There is a tradition that some historians collected but is not documented on the 413 year existence of a Christian church in the same place.
We have historical certainty that there were 987 "out wall to the west of Barcelona", a Romanic church dedicated to Santa Maria del Pi.
The present church was built between 1319-1320 to 1391. His style, a pure Gothic, is a single nave with side chapels practically devoid of any ornament.
The main facade has a large rosette center gothic an overall diameter of 10 meters, it was completely rebuilt in 1940, after the fire of 1936, by Josep Maria Jujol.
